Avantalk Jogger Wireless Stereo Earphones - Customer reviews

The Jogger Blu-Tooth headphones have worked well for me. I hope that this review will help people who may be on the fence about buying the product to feel a bit more at ease with the purchase.
I am using the Jogger with the iPhone 4S, running iOS 5.0.1. The initial charge of the headset took just over two hours. Pairing the headset with my iPhone was simple. The iPhone found the device and didn't even require the supplied PIN to connect. The sound of the headsets is more than adequate. The bass is nice and rich and the highs come through with surprising clarity. The best performance comes when the source (iPhone) is turned all the way up and the volume on the headset is adjusted to a comfortable level.
I decided to test the range of the headset in my house. I got about 30 feet away from the iPhone before any `skipping' was observed. There were several walls between me and the music source, so I was very pleased with the range. Of course, while jogging the devices will be within 30 inches or so of each other so range is no problem at all.

I made a few calls using the headset and the sound was good for phone calls. The only problem is that initially the voice dialing (press V+/V- simultaneously) was a bit clumsy for me, but getting used to the controls is part of the process. Also, it is VERY unlikely that I will initiate a call while on a run - I probably will not even answer a call while running. Answering, however, is a breeze... just push the Multi-Function button and the music goes silent and the call is activated. Changing the current track to the next or previous track in your playlist works well with the iPhone. This is important to me, but some people may not use that function very much.
The supplied rubber ear peaces that are available to use made the headset a little unstable on my head. It felt as though I might lose them on a trail. I may not have put them on correctly or something, but ended up taking them off and going without them. This made the unit feel secure on my head and I had confidence that they would not fall during a run.

My first jog was 5 miles. The headset performed flawlessly on the trail, stayed securely on my head, and was comfortable. I never thought twice about my headset, unlike jogging with a corded headset where the ear buds slip or the cord get hung on my shirt or something. My next jog was 3 miles and went just as easily as the first. In fact, I've been using the Jogger exclusively for running and exercising since I purchased them. Sweating while wearing the Jogger poses no problem at all.

Be sure to turn off the headset completely when they are not in use. Your calls will be picked up by the headset, not by the phone. Also, the charge lasts a long time when you are using them for the implied purpose (jogging or exercise). Of course, if they do become your 'all day/everyday' headset then it won't matter.

In short, for the money this is a solid purchase. I recommend them highly. DougEast on amazon.com
